Network Meeting held Wednesday 29th April 2009, Osprey House, Redditch

We are grateful to the Strategic Health Authority who hosted our latest event at Osprey House, Redditch, the evaluations clearly indicated that this was a favourable venue and we have secured this venue for the event to be held in April 2010.

The topic of 'Partnership Working' created many discussions thoughout the day.

Julia Greensall from Partners in Paediatrics gave a short presentation on the role of PiP and how it supports Networks across the Region.

David Widdas, Consultant Nurse, NHS Warwickshire and NHS Coventry then posed the question "What do we mean by partnership working?" and followed this up with a joint presentation with Alison Cooke, Director of Care, Rainbows Children's Hospice of a case study regarding 'Partnership through Transition'

Sue Hatton then presented 'Partnership in it's broadest sense' and updated us on some of the SHA's current initiatives.

Lunch generated lots of informal networking (email contacts will now be available via this website)

Afternoon session was facilitated by Jane Appleby, Children's Lead for Children, CAMHS and Safeguarding, NHS East Midlands titled 'Safeguarding of Disabled Children', the workshops leading on from this presentation led to some interesting discussions around different local approaches to policies and procedures.

Many thanks to all that completed the evaluation forms, the steering group will be meeting in June to decide on the topic for our next meeting which will be in October 2009 in the East Midlands - details to be confirmed.
