Ensuring Sustainability of Maternity and Children's Services in the West Midlands This paper forms part of the NHS West Midlands work on ensuring sustainability of maternity and children’s services. It summarises the key issues of compliance and sustainability in the context of the principles and recommendations of the SHA strategy Investing for Health. The self-assessment toolkit will support local areas to interpret and apply the criteria consistently. Services can use the tool to rate their level of achievement of the criteria, record evidence, action plan and review progress.
